Phones have been changing shape faster than chargers have. Screens keep growing, and foldables have moved from trade-show curiosity to daily driver for a lot of people, yet most wireless chargers on the desk still assume a flat rectangle: lay the phone down, line up the coils, charge. The trouble is that once a phone can stand up, open halfway, or fold into a smaller brick, a flat pad starts to feel awkward.
Dutch brand Zens put that problem on the table this month. Based in Eindhoven and known for minimalist design and wireless-charging innovation, Zens unveiled two new products in September: the Duo Charger Pro 2 and the Fold Charger Pro 3. Both build around 25W magnetic wireless charging, and their selling point is not the wattage but the ability to fold, stand, and follow the phone's form. CEO Johan Plasmans put it plainly: a charger should not be designed for just one kind of smartphone.
Why do foldables change the brief? A bar phone just drops onto a pad; a foldable either stands half-open as a video stand or needs to close before it sits flat, and a normal pad struggles with both poses. Zens' answer is a fold-out charging surface. The Duo Charger Pro 2 uses a hinged surface that holds the phone in portrait or landscape while charging two devices at 25W each, screen always visible, no need to lay the phone flat. For big-screen and foldable users, that is the design that actually fits.
The baseline spec is still 25W magnetic. The Fold Charger Pro 3 is Qi2.2 certified and delivers 25W magnetic wireless charging to iPhone 16 and newer, with Android covered through a magnetic case; the Duo Charger Pro 2 runs dual 25W magnetic and works across iPhone and Android. Once magnetic alignment was folded into the Qi2.2 standard, a single pad serving a mixed family of brands finally became real, and magnetic wireless charging moved from an Apple-only accessory to a common baseline.
The Fold Charger Pro 3 takes the 3-in-1 wireless charger route: one unit feeds a phone, an Apple Watch, and AirPods at once, 25W for the phone and 5W each for watch and earbuds, then folds flat to slide into a bag. On the desk it is both a charging station and a stand, and the minimalist black shell does not shout in a study. This blend of multi-device wireless charging and a shape-shifting body is pushing chargers from pure tools toward everyday objects, and opens room for brands that do design and customization.
Zens prices the pair without much drama: the Duo Charger Pro 2 at 79.99 euros and the Fold Charger Pro 3 at 129.99 euros, each bundled with a 65W USB-C adapter, both up for pre-order at zens.tech. The signal matters more than the price. Now that phones themselves fold, chargers have reached the moment they need redesigning too. Over the next year or two, whoever makes magnetic wireless chargers thin, stable, and ready for bar, large, and foldable shapes alike will hold the next turn of desktop charging.
